Hello all. How have you all gone with your hybrid cartridges or VNTs? I'm keen to hear about your experiences

Well, mine is still sitting on a shelf in its box, next to the manifold for it.
With some advice from Manic, I wound the fuel screw out on the IP and that has
Given me sufficient performance improvement (in addition to previous IP adjustments) to wreck my motivation to bother fitting the cartridge. Might get to it one day.

I fitted mine a while back now. Absolutely makes a difference. It has been off the road for 18mths (t case issues and lack of time) but I highly recommend the hybrid cartridge option. My girl has 300k on it and has a new lease on life. Off idle sluggishness GONE. So much more driveable. All std intercooler but silicone piping.

Just get and do it mate. My disco is all stock except silicone pipes and IP fueled up a bit. It performs heaps better. Has hugely increased fuel economy and performance is very noticeable. Hills I would be back in 4th or 3rd I'm generally able to use 5th. Like Ive got a new engine but with 300K on it!

Slow off the mark..no I plan to fit it at some stage.

@manic - how do I remove the anti tamper tab of the fuel screw on the FIP?

Took me a while but it is in.
    You were right.
I have not changed the IP settings (since fitting the unit - but they are already tweaked) but the mid range performance is clearly improved.
A short windy hill near home used to cap me at 70 now i can easily do 80.
Acceleration from 100-120 way better, in the order of 5 to 10 seconds better.
Will keep an eye on egts for a while to adjust tune, if necessary.

I still wonder about my injectors at 350k but as performance is now easier to live with I will probably not do anything about that.

Which cartdridge did you end up using eddo? The one from turbo rebuild in the UK? Would be interested in one for mine, so thought I'd check.

    this one.

Enhanced Turbo Uprated Billet Cartridge 452055 Land Rover Defender Discovery 300tdi

After driving it for a few weeks I'm finding it very good indeed. But I see that I need to keep a closer eye in the EGTs as I can hit 700 easier than before. I may reduce fueling a little.
