Question D1 wheel alignment setting - 0-2mm toe out?

Is anyone able to please advise if the D1 is like the D2/D2a in that it drives best with a 0 - 2mm toe out wheel alignment setting?

Had a D1 from previous owner with scrubbing front passenger tyre.

Manual gives very specific details on the distance the centre of the ball joint should be from the end of the rod.

We reset the distances by a significant amount over those set by the previous owner, with no thought to toe in settings, then took it to a local garage test plate to find less than 1% error ie it passed. No scrubbing since.

Obviously who ever did the previous ball joint replacement paid absolutely no attention to the manual.

I suspect that attention to these measurements will generally take care of the toe out. I can only surmising that if rod-ball distances are correct then toe out becomes a concern if you've bend the rod or something else in the steering geometry..
