3.9 v8 rear main seal removal?
Hi guys.
Wanting to do a rear main seal change on my 3.9 v8.
My question is can this be removed simply by levering the old one out (self tap screws) and replacing or does the sump need to be removed and the main cap at the rear?
If so should i oil the seal before fitting?
Thanks Andrew.

Got it sorted. Found some info on another site.
Couple of screws into the old one to help pry it out.
Took a little prying with a screwdriver as well but come out.

Clean up, oil then tap the new one in using the old one as the guide.

Welsh plugs look average but gunna wing it now, clean her up and put the engine in the old girl.
(Special thanks to Roverlord off road spares for hooking me up with the parts i needed so quickly!)

Hi I was going to reply but see you sorted it out, if you had of unbolted the main cap then you would have disturbed the 2 x crucifix seals that sit there.
