None of the TPS I've met recently had slotted holes, that was for the earlier EFI systems.

No worries I'll try and test it some more and see. I wasn't getting any reading but I may not have put the muilt prongs in enough. I've unplugged my VSS to stop it from cutting out above 2000. Maybe I should try unplugging the TPS instead and plug the VSS back in. It sometimes idles high in N so maybe it is cactus.
The best way to check is to stick a pin through the various wires .One will be 5volts, one earth, and one will be variable voltage.
It's the variable voltage one you checkwith the other pin in earth.
you can slot the holes if the idle voltage is more than .049 volts, but the problem is more likely to be a gap in the carbon track that causes a drop out.

Alright I'll defiantly try and retest like that I wasn't even getting a reading but I wasn't trying that hard at it just had a quick go. I tested the ones the 14cux book said cant remember now. I'll adjust it if I need to worth a shot before buying one if it's cactus.
Cheers
If you really need a new one, the following is a well made replacement, just as everything else is that Tim makes. But the price reflects the fact that the original OEM ones are no longer available.

Got away for half an hour and killed 2 birds with 1 stone, oil change and Mrs rear brake pads.
I thought I bought penrite 20 60 but I got 10 50 full syn. Might be a little thin with 370xxx. I made a mess in true LR fashion forgetting how much it gushes out horizontally out of the plug.
I used the ryco syntec z89ast see how that goes.
Cheers Jim
