    300TDI may be terminal

    Hi
After all my work getting my old girl back on the road it may have been all for nought.
I had an incident today with a road rager, my young son was in the back and it got very nasty,
the other guy tried to push me into oncoming traffic and a few other unplesantries.
I had to do some very hard braking and acceleration and now the truck is missing on at least one cylinder
and was blowing grey smoke, some light but mostly dark.
Theres some oil on the head beside the front two injectors but nothing that looks like something has blown
Poor old thing doesnt sound healthy
Any ideas what I should be checking?
    Thank you

Pull the rocker cover off and check all the valve clearances first, you may have spat out a push rod or lash cap.

No2 inlet lash cap was missing (found it down the back) the adjuster had backed right off and the push rod had come off the ball.
All put back together and running.
    Many thanks
