Discovery 1 1996 300 Tdi A/C belt keeps comming off

I recently had my A/C compressor replaced due to it seizing. The A/C worked fine for approximately 5-6 days then stopped, the belt had come off and shredded. Being just the drive belt that had come off, I replaced it myself an used the correct torque setting for the tension specified in the workshop manual. The belt stayed on for 3 days and did the same thing.

I took pictures of the position of the belt not running and running, when running the belt seems to run on the inner edge of the tensioner but when the engine is off it sits where i think it should be dead centre.

Is it possible the mechanic has left off a spacer or washer when replacing the new compressor.

    See attached photos.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards Steve

can the belt be moved on the compressor 1 rib froward towards the front of the car.
There are no spacers or washers that could have been left out.

Did he change any of the idler or tensioner pulles? I replaced my ac compressor the other week and my belt was running off. I also had the pulles removed to replace bearing and after swapping them around it ran true again.

There's also a little play the the compressor if you loosen the bolts you might be able to true it up a bit
