So I'm 5mm closer now... Maybe it's the rears are having an effect on the front as the different left and right in the rear is more significant than the front difference now...?
Sounds better. Do you have dual batteries? if only the single, could be a difference. But 5mm is probably within some spec or something.
But also, was that with someone sitting in the drivers seat?
Can make a slight difference.
Back in the day when I last went through all this, I used 2 25kg bags of some garden stuff my dad had for his garden . on the driver seat.
I weight 100kg, but no way to fit 4 of them, and in a 2door RRC, getting them into the back seat .. well not worth the effort.
So I did my measurments having something on the driver seat.
That was 99% of the way the RRC travelled.
What would be the chances of swapping front L<->R and hoping that the 5mm difference would be higher on the passengers side. that way when you're sitting, it may 'even out" .. or something to that effect.
ps. I've never compressed springs to remove/install(on my RRC or recently on my D1). I use the LR supplied jack between axle and chassis, and just enough force to get the clearance needed. So much quicker.
