300tdi went into lots of mud without wading plugs - should I be worried?

Like the title says...went on an impromptu trip up Mount Disappointment the other day and it was nice and dry and first trek for the season but I forgot completely about the wading plugs and I think the last time I had the thing serviced the mechanics took them out. Didn't expect any water or mud (silly me) but ended up in lots of mud at one stage up to about a foot above the door sills, just wondering if the wading plugs were in fact not in should I be worried about anything here???

You could drop the oil and see if it is muddy, if you're worried.

Our old D1 300 Tdi survived all sorts of mud without wading plugs. Just change the oil regularly.

IT can ,theres 2 holes, ones a wading hole the others a vent and then youve got the big old spot where the AC tensioner bolts up...

    and the crank seal.

Well I'm pretty sure neither hole is plugged up so mud could have got its way into a few places if they are susceptible.

Basically I am going to be driving it a fair bit more in slightly more remote places over the next couple of months and I don't want to break down because of something dumb like that.

Shove a hose up the holes and see what comes out.
