    Standard height Spring and Shock absorber replacement

    Hi

    I have been searching around the forums and internet to find a decent yet affordable replacement for the springs and shock absorbers for my 1994 300TDI.

    I know that a lot of people like the dobinsons etc, however I am not going to be doing a lot of hard core off road travel. I don't need a lift kit, so I want to keep standard height.

    My typical driving includes:
    * around town 80%
    * sand driving 15%
    * corrugated roads 5%

    I will do some outback treks later, but only for about 1 or 2 weeks a year.

    Has anyone seen any good deals on springs and or shocks on the net or around brisbane?

    Edit:

    I don't have or want a winch, and i carry mostly 2 swags and a fridge. Plus 300 kg's of land rover spare parts... ;-)

    Thanks

    Recommend you call British Off Road at Forest Glen on the Sunshine Coast as I know they offer well-priced Terrafirma and OME kits which might suit your needs.

    When we had a 1995 D1 we fitted TJM XGS springs and shocks which worked well.

    I have also seen well-priced Ironman kits.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Rat (or would you prefer Mr Gutz?)

    For the last 15 years / 300,000 km we've been very happy with Lovells springs and Bilstein dampers. Not sure how they compare cost-wise with other options but they've given a compliant well-controlled ride all that time and still do.

    Very happy with my Dobinsons and Bilstein combo, very good around town and off road. I recently picked up a set (4) of new Bilsteins on Facebook for $400, keep an eye out.
