    New 300 Tdi cylinder heads.

Has anyone used the new "cheap" 300Tdi cylinder heads, available from a couple of Aust-based companies? I've heard prices in the $650 - 850 range. (No names - no pack drill )

There are some available via AliBaba for $200 or less, but I don't really want one made out of recycled chocolate wrappers. AMC head with valves etc, is currently around a grand (Au$) inc. shipping, ex Turners in the UK. I'll get the gaskets, bolts etc from Roverlord.

We only use AMC, and buy them from local suppliers to keep some of the money here to pay wages and support local business.

I have 2 stories to share about fitting chineesium grade heads

    1. Customer purchased it, wanted it fitted accepted the "mate its not even close to spec, I dont want to fit it, if you want me to fit it I'm not even going to jokingly mention 30x30 concrete guarentee, I wont even come to the party on warranty on workmanship. If it fails for any reason you get the supplier to foot the bill for labour and you're going to pay cash and beers upfront." I'm very glad I got that conversation written down. The car made it to the end of the street before it let go between 2+3.

    2. There is a simple logic expression (is the head you're supplying for me to fit with any kind of implied warranty, chineesium, britpart, second hand, damaged or untested?)<>(Will I fit this head for you?")

The PM was simply that I had a newish motor with a new LR head ready to go for not much more than the price of his AMC head - clearing out my parts.
But to add to this thread - I have had an AMC head for 10 years on my 300 TDi and it is still going strong.
My experience with radiators, rubber parts, high cycle parts from china is terrible.
