The leaking PS reservoir could just be a dried up hardened o ring seal under the cap.
Mine did, replaced and zero PS fluid leakage. 50K klms ago now.
I can't remember the part number and just any o ring will not fit, it's very thin.
Start from the cheapest process first and then assume it's over pressurising, I reckon.
Note that I later found out that this cap/seal is also used in many BMW models too .. but wasn't excessively expensive from my regular parts guys anyhow)maybe $5 or so.
Should be zero movement in the PS pump pulley too(obviously other than it's rotational action! ).
Oh! one more thing. I'm having good experience with a ebay PS pump too if you want to replace yours if it's worn(which sounds like it is).
Mine had a mm or so of lateral slack, made a very slight graunchy noise when twirling wheel at stand still and leaked ever so slightly. $100 Cheapie fixed all that, now at 35K klms and 1.5 years old .. primarily around town, so lots of usage in that time.
My original intention with the cheapie PS pump was mainly to keep the D1(daily) going, and one rebuild the old pump.
