    Power Steering High Pressure Hose

Have spent most of the day replacing the high pressure hose on my Disco 1997 V8. Power steering pump to steering box.

Original part was ANR3131, and it was a pain to remove.

New part is QEP105760 which apparently supersedes ANR3131.

The two hoses are quite different. The new hose has two rubber parts one at each end, the original had only one rubber part.

Looking for some wisdom. Has anyone done this and what was your experience.

    Problems I encountered were

    1. Threading the new rubber part up past the bottom radiator hose was a problem, hose seems longer than the original steel line and is touching the radiator hose.
    2. The connector into the steering box ( the small hole) had a much longer thread and most of the threads are up out of the hole, quite high.
    3. The connector into the power steering pump was difficult to line up and do up the threads. A few threads still showing.

In the morning I will be refilling the fluid , bleeding the system and starting the car for road test.

Should I be concerned about any of the above points, will the exposed threads leak? Can the new rubber hose be against and touching the radiator hose. It will get hot?

    Thanks.

This morning I test drove the truck and no leaks at connectors.

I’m wondering will the new rubber power steering hose be a problem sitting against/rubbing against the bottom radiator hose. There are a lot of hoses in that area through to the steering box.

    Any advice appreciated.

Here is a pic of the hose touching.
