I've heard far more praises than that. The green skin training course is pretty full on, I'm pretty sure its quite a few weeks. Something I would have loved to have done, but am just too damn blue patch rather than green! :(Quote:

1. you weren't getting though that on what you had in the configuration you had, thats firm wet clay, you might as well have been driving on ice.
2. the gaywagons have wider bigger tyres to support the weight, empty the stock 4x4 wagon weighs in at the same kerb as Arkie.
3. the gaywagon has the ability to do well if the driver knows what they're doing and the limitations of the vehicles, pity the new driver training doesnt cover half the stuff it should, my gaywagon drivers course was a fraction over a week long and the maintainers course was 2 weeks from memory....
I shall never forget being told on my drivers course, by the instructor not to select the lower gear and use the engine braking to maintain vehicle speed coming down the gap. I just looked at the instructor and told him, over ride braked trailer, disc front drum rear on the vehicle with a GCM of better than 5.5T? Id rather you fail me when we survive the decent through the turns than posthumously get a pass.

Used to fit chains to the wheels of a coach halfway up Mt Buller and Mt Hotham, on the slope. In fact, it's the only place you can do it there. Easy enough given the size of the wheel and the fact they were duals, as long as you got it done before your fingers froze.Quote:
