    FIP for fun and frivolity

Came back to the yard the other day, to find a puddle of diesel under the old girl. Leaking injector pump was the ( simple) diagnosis. Checked out prices for reconditioned ones. When I got up off the floor, I decided to pull the one off the wreck down the back.
Going to do a straight swap for now, and try rebuilding the other one.

Got the pump from the parts machine on - ran like a dream! Stopped on the test drive to check for leaks, etc.
Found a large, growing puddle of oil under the old girl. Turns out that the vacuum pump makes a really good oil pump when the Welch plug goes missing!
Of course, I had considered changing it for the one off the donor, whilst I had the fip and the lines off, but no, I wanted to get Slo-Mo back on the road. Should have listened to myself!
So now she's laid up for a little bit longer. Trouble is that when I get home, there's usually not much daylight left, so I only get a bit of time to do these things.
Wondering if I should change the lift pump whilst I'm at it?

And it continues...... swapped out the offending vac pump (it was a Britpart one) for the Wabco one from the donor. Gave the rhs engine bay a wash at work. All good. On the way home the abs light comes on!
I'd say it's just water from the gerni in a connector.
