300tdi oil leak: vacuum pump welch plug.

My 300tdi d1 is off the road because of engine oil leaking from the coin sized
opening at the bottom corner of the vacuum pump. The welsh plug appears to have
    fallen out.

When this happened to you what did you do please?

cleaned it, dried it put a 2 dollar coin in a plastic match tube lid, filed it, gooped it, tapped it in and tie wired it, topped up the oil, had a pie with my son, continued onto the ski-ing trip. replaced the pump with the spare one when I remembered to get around to it.

Nice:-) How long do you reckon it would have lasted?

disassembly / assembly of the vacuum pump takes longer. If necessary, disassemble the rivets and replace the M4 screws, then reseal the pump with silicone glue. There is little hand access in the pump housing. So it took longer than I needed :-)
