    Replacement shock recommendations

    Greetings
My 97 Disco has HD coil springs fitted but standard shocks which are making the ride somewhat unpleasant.
I'm looking to pelt the standards and replace with something better that doesn't make it sit any higher (Barely gets in the garage now)
    I was looking at Terra Firma TF117 & TF116
Its a daily drive with the odd bit of off roading and tows occasionally.
    Open to recommendations.
    Cheers

OMG a birdy Skyhawks where just going as I joined. Did get to play with then a little happily not in the water like the Airforces planes which seem to like salt water far to much.

Big history for your crew Sir

When I had a Disco1, I originally had HD springs and 2" lift but the ride was very uncomfortable unladen. I tried several combinations of springs and shox and ended up with the softest springs that would hold the vehicle up, Bilstein shox and air bags fitted inside the rear shox for when I actually put some weight in.
I can't remember the brand, model, or supplier of the springs sorry but the supplier allowed me to try springs and return them if I wasn't happy. The springs were meant to give a 2" lift but only managed 1.5" due to the soft rate.
This made a huge difference to ride as a daily driver and much happier offroad. The shox kept the vehicle well under control.
When camping I didn't have a heavy load (single at the time) but I did cart some heavy loads around town and on highways, including stacking the car above the bottom window line with floorboards (rear seats removed and air bags pumped) for a few hours drive on freeways and had no problem.

Around 6 or 7 years ago, I fitted King Springs, Bilstein dampers and fitted rear air bags. So far I have been very happy with this setup. It has worked a treat for around town and also for overlanding when loaded.
