timing ?
Having a few dramas with the Disco in what I think is the fuel department.
Car is very low on power when you put the foot down and in neutral if you rev it the revs start to drop after a say 20 -30 seconds. At low throttle all is OK. So far I've done the following
- New filters (I run an extra filter before the lift pump) and cleaned sedimenter
- Cleaned tank (Tanks was clean)
- Cleaned fuel pick up tank, had a little bit of crud but not bad
- New lines from tank to filter
- New electric lift pump
- Replaced spill pipes with clear tube
- Cleaned banjo bolt on the return pipe from the back of the IP
The spill pipes at the injectors were dry and with the clear pipes there is very little returned fuel. Is this normal? The clear filter I have inline before the lift pump is full of fuel. This filter is off a diesel Mercedes so OK with diesel fuel.
I'm really scratching my head now. Any ideas?
Cheers

Doubt it but worth checking. Belt was done about 7,000 ago and has been fine.

Did the issue start before you started changing things or after ? if it was running fine prior, back track and start over. As you have fitted an electric lift pump run a fuel line into a container and turn ignition on and see if its got air in the system. Back track from there. Also from what i recall electric lift pumps in some cases has a sintered bronze filter in one end. This could restrict flow given your running two filters run a drill through it and see if it fixes the issue.
Cheers mate, will check.
FIXED!
So stupid me had made sure there was fuel coming out of the pump, but hadn't checked it it was coming out post the filter.
Assumed that a new filter would all be good. Found there was no fuel coming out of the filter and traced it down to the banjo on the filter head full of gunk, probably the reason the lift pump died too. Presume it is like a diesel bug that may have developed, car was not getting used much on lockdown. Thanks for all the suggestions.
Anyway glad to have found the cause.

Mate well done i finding the issue. Trust me there are a lot of stupid people about including me. Take it on the chin and learn. Given the amount of gunk in the banjo i would be giving the fuel tank a good dose of Fuel doctor or some other biocide. I would be doing a full filter change after a couple of tanks of fuel.
Ive been caught with that sort of stuff, its possibly the goop they use to glue the paper element in the filter together. Comes in a variety of colours and always comes out in a clump, like someone got a little generous with the hot glue gun and left a marble of it in the filter.
