I guess that raises the question; Just where do the tyres rub? Front, rear, both? If the drag link is bent, it will shorten, thus causing toe out ( hmm, long time since I was under the D1 ), and maybe allowing rubbing at the rear of the wheel at full lock. I bent the Panhard on mine which caused some issues, but I don't think wheel rubbing was one of them. But bent drag kinks and Panhards are reasonably noticeable.
