Might as well do the timing belt while you're at it. Oh, and check that the P gasket ain't leaking....

Well the deal is done.
It's arriving Sunday.
Yes the cam belt is going to be replaced, practice on the young blokes Disco, as my Defender is due[emoji16]
Already discussed rodding the rad with the local radiator place.
P gasket, and hoses will be done
I might see how the viscous goes, it's easy to swap.
What temp gauges do people run in Discos?
I have a VDO mechanical one in the Defender.
Low coolant alarm? I have one in the header tank of the Defender that needs two holes drilled in the tank, it's never been a problem, but I think a cap with a float switch would be better. Did any Discos or Rangies have low coolant as standard?
Will supply photos when it arrives [emoji56]

Can't tell you the brand of mine, but it combines a temp gauge and audible alarm. It used to pick up from the bung on top of the rad, but I prefer it on the bung on the thermostat housing. Or you could just do something simple like this:

Mine came with an engine saver ( Low Water Alarm Sensor) with a beeper and led light. Works really well.
I've also got a madman ems with EGT and coolant probe in the thermostat housing. Expensive unit but it is awesome
I've got one of these gauges (but without coolant level, option wasn't available when I bought mine) works great and I've talked to the guy that makes them, they will work with a float switch if you want to go that way.

Well it's home.
Made a start on cleaning out the interior.
Removed the grill and head lights, which have the little ball sockets things on the back broken.
Removed the lower skirt on the bumper as it was broken on the left hand end.
Start on getting the head off during the week.
I'll try and get the young bloke to start a thread on its progress
