Did you remove the fuel sediment / trap when you cleaned it ? If yes did you replace the seals in the correct place ? Did you pinch one ( The large o rings) . Start at the beginning. Check each step one at the time. Slow and steady if you get ****ed off and rush you may miss a little thing. Baz
Ok had another read, Go back to your boost compensator . Remove it and using the old pin line up the marks on the old pin in the top of the injector pump, Cant think of the correct name but from memory looking into the top of boost actuator from the drives side guard its on the right hand side. Use the marks on the pin not the punch mark. If a previous owner has moved played with it may not be in the correct orientation. if it runs then you may have solved your issue.
IT RUNS!!!!!
Thanks to everyone for their contributions, it's what makes this such a great forum.
Did a bit of Googling and found a guy in the UK with a similar issue due to a dead injector. Had an old set of injectors in the shed so chucked them in and it fired up after two cranks. Running better than it has in a while. I reckon some crud has made it into and injector and gummed it all up. Also after a run checked the boost compenstor and the moving pin had jammed too, so reckon it was a bit sticky, has put some WD40 into try a free it up.
Thanks again folks
Great to hear you have it running Fattima. It's difficult to diagnose some issues on these old diesels sometimes because the one symptom can be caused by three or four different things - in my case the ****loads of white smoke was the timing out by over 20 degrees. Surprised mine ran at all!
