Thread: 300tdi Crank pulley tool needed in Vic pls

I have one 125kms away in Moe ... will loan with a cash deposit to cover replacement inc delivery from UK - fully refundable with return of undamaged tool. Don't mean to be a dick about it, but they are expensive, and it's a long way to bring it back!

Thanks for the offer mate, but its a bit too far for my bro. Anyway, he may end up getting one made (even a few at that price!!).

There are some more, err 'improvised', ways to lock the crank. On my auto I locked the torque converter with a long socket through the inspection plate (with help from Blknight). I've heard that a manual can be in gear and hard up against a stop (concrete wall or similar). Disclaimer - the torque is likely to be several hundred nm so whoever is doing it needs to be confident their chosen method is safe and effective.

You’ll also get a good idea of the clamping capabilities of the clutch.

I looked to buying making the same locking tool.

In retrospect, I wonder if a rattle gun would do the job.
