    D1 V8 Distributors

    IMG_5197.jpgIMG_5198.jpg IMG_5198.jpgIMG_5199.jpg
Hi i have recently purchased a D1 V8 that has come with some spares ,Iam unsure of the brand of this as there is no brand or part number on the item although the vacuum advance unit does have Lucas England on it , the new unit has a three pin flat plug on the side of the unit where as my distributor has wires 2 exiting with a plastic plug connected to them my questions are
can some one identify the spare distributor?
    can I exchange the two?
if yes to above where would I obtain a plug to suit new distributor and how would I wire it up with the two wires on the car ?
    many thanks in advance

Looks like a Powerspark dizzy with a Chinese copy of a Lucas ignition module.

Powerspark Ignition - Classic Car Ignition Problems

I have found my Powerspark distributor to be very reliable (much more so than my original Lucas dizzy), but the ignition module is rubbish and will probably let you down (well, it let me down anyway). I recommend converting the ignition module to a Bosch BIM024. Instructions are in this terrific thread by bee utey:
