This fellow might be of help. 200/300Tdi VE injector pump. Removing the front seal and set timing Pt1 - YouTube
Tom.
As the title suggests, ive got some fuel leaking into the timing belt area of my D1 300tdi.
Pretty sure its because of the FIP front/shaft seal.
Ive got a bosch ve pump.
Any tips, suggestions or links anyone can offer?
Thanks in advance.

Get a seal kit and shaft seal (usually not in kit), and do the rest while it's off, much easier while it's off the car.
Be prepared to reset the timing properly (dial gauge in back of pump) after its all back together.

Thanks Rick1970,
i have bought one of these seal kits and its just arrived.
I know everyone by default says... 'send your FIP to a specialist', but im still entertaining the idea of having a crack myself.
I may end sacking the idea and paying someone to do it, but not till ive exhausted my options and arrived at the conclusion myself that its just not possible to do it at home.
Thus, has anyone here stripped a FIP apart, replaced the seals and reassembled it themselves?
successful? failed?
What do the FIP specialists do in their workshop that cant be done at home?

Have done seals at home, yes. Just take good notes of how it’s all assembled and any adjustments.
Mines back on and going well, so guess it was a success. Did require timing to be reset, timing pin was not close enough.

That screw on the side for locking the pump is irritating when youve got the newer VE's, like i do.
Why would they take away this locking facility!!
My wrecker is the same.
(disappointing)
Need to find me one of the longer lock screws somewhere.
