Well, I am at my wits end. This morning I primed through to the injector pump and loosened the injector pipes and turned it over until it had diesel running. I replaced the fuel spill return line from the tank to the back of the injector pump and still no change. So far I have;
1. New fuel filter
2. Checked turbo hoses
3. New lift pump (although the one on it only had about 700 km on it)
4. Put an electric pump on
5. New fuel hose from tank to lift pump - bypassing sedimenter (temporarily)
6. Checked the hose from Boost diaphragm to turbo
7. Checked the Boost diaphragm/fuel pin
8. Primed the pump and injectors
9. New hose from fuel spill return on back of injector pump to tank.
None of this has fixed it.
From cold it starts first time and idles well. Go to drive and you need to rev it up a little as it lacks power. Drive it around for a few minutes, switch it off and it will not start for maybe 1/2 hour or so. The fact that it seems to start first thing of the morning seems to indicate that there is not a fuel leak, but it seems to be a blockage or restriction somewhere. The fact that I have tried two nearly new lift pumps and an electric pump would seem to indicate it's not a lift pump problem and I get flow from the tank ok.
It would seem to be injector pump related?
Extremely frustrated!!
