Discovery 1 ARB bullbar winch tray?

I've just bought an airbag compatible winch bar (ARB 3232050) for my 97 Disco, however it doesn't look like the winch will mount to the bar itself. Does anyone know if a separate tray is required to mount the winch? And if so, where to source one? The previous owner didn't have one and never fitted a winch.

    Thanks!

It doesn't mount to the bar, they use a tray that the winch mounts to upside down between the chassis rails.

Thanks for the info. Any tips on where I should get one? And would I need to find a genuine ARB one or would something else work?

Not sure you will get one from ARB so might need to make something.

Thanks for that. Would you happen to have any photos or diagrams of what that might look like? I haven't had any luck searching this forum or the rest of the internet.

My son had this exact issue with a TJM bar on his Disco 2.

He was all set to make one, when he dropped into the local TJM store in Albury, and they had one in the shelf, for way less then the steel was going to cost him.

If I were you I'd contact ARB before doing anything else.

Worth a shot but it's less than a $100 in steel which is certainly a lot less than ARB will charge.
If it's not on the shelf there is little chance they'll produce one , just ask any D3/4 owner wanting a mounting kit.

I have pics somewhere as this has been asked before.

A few years back I wanted some of the crush cans for that same bar. I went to the ARB factory in Kilsyth. They didn't have them, but they had the plans and they made them for me. Quite reasonable price too. Of course, those parts are a bit different to a winch cradle, and there is no way I could have made them myself so the situation is a little different, but it costs nothing to ask. However, I doubt I'd have got the same result from an agent.

The factory has a sales counter with staff that helped.

I can take some pics of mine, but it is on the car so a little hard to see.

Not like that now, if you want something that isnt in stock you have to wait til they are doing a production run and its not like D1 winch trays are a moving item these days.
I actually know one of their engineers and i ordered my fitting kit in person in Kilsyth and it took nearly 4 months.
A TJM tray will fit since the tray is not connected to the bar at all.

Fair enough. Still reckon a phone call may just find a dusty one on a shelf somewhere. It's a big place.

And yeah, any one should fit as it simply bolts up between the rails. Easy to make if you're good at that stuff.
