    extremely high Maf voltage

    Had to share this one.
After engine rebuild, 3.9 V8, started fine first touch but was stumbling and shaky.
set up idle etc. and tried to drive it, (after cam bed in ) But, it struggled to get anywhere.
A check of spark plugs and it's very rich some were soaking wet.. hmm.
Out with voltmeter and strobes again to check.

Timing good, on to the MAF checks.
The idle CO check is volts between grounding wire and co idle wire, manual say's between 1.0 v and 1.4 v when warm.
Mine was reading 11.7 vs. lots of head scratching followed, I didn't think that was even possible. tried voltmeter on various things to make sure it was working ok.
Then unplugged MAF, it picked up and ran a bit better, so, pulled old MAF from donor car, cleaned it up and put in.
This one was correct, reading 1.08. INSTANT better idle etc.
But by this time I had fouled all the plugs.....on it goes.

Well, spoke too soon, still running rich, almost undriveable.
swapped MAF again, with friends working car, no change.
double checked temp sensors, all good.
Then checked 'air flow' wire at MAF, (green one) previously just did CO idle wire.
Here is what it is, Airflow wire reads 4.78 volts, dropping quickly to 4.65 volts and staying there.
Should be 3.3 - 3.4 volts. instantly. Now manual says if it reads 5 volts or more then dropping to normal, MAF is defective??
    Any ideas on that?

Next will be pull out injectors and replace with known good set. He, He, my friend is on holiday so can be done.

Test done, TPS volts 2.6 closed, rising to 4.9 full throttle, smooth rise, checks ok. Then, I simply unplugged the TPS, drove slowly in first gear, same, same, at 2,000 rpm through to nearly 3,000 rpm. it clears and starts pulling like it should.
over 3,000 rpm, it starts popping a bit. It is over fueling for sure.
Can anyone tell me if MAF reading is wrong. Injectors leaking etc.
