Still running the 14CUX...... It actually seems to be handling it very well !! Cant believe how much low down torgue this thing has! It is also extremely willing to rev .. Could not go back to a 3.9 powered Disco!!!

I tried the Tornado chip avenue..BUT after many emails to Tornado Systems themselves and a couple of resellers...with no response i will be going down the haltech route as was recommended by Ian from TRS..

Absolutely recommend Haltech.

Aussie company, Incredible support and best in class development.

Have used their gear and now it's so widely known in industry that pretty much every tuner in the country has already got (or can get) their head around it, and most dyno operators also have knowledge of same.

I would also recommend 4 hole yellow top borsch injectors to replace the standard injectors, much better spay pattern

Borsch injection sounds like it came from a Lada... Doesn't the Borsch injector have a beetroot coloured top and come with a bottle of anaesthetic to fix the spay pattern? [wink11][thumbsupbig]

How many litres per 100km are you getting from the 4.6 around town and on the freeway?

Much to my ( pleasant) surprise, its around 15l per 100km.
The old 3.9 was 20-22l per 100km.

Yep that is close to my experience with the 4.6 in a heavy D2 with plenty of fruit on it. Mine is usually 14.5 around town and 13 to 15 on the highway at 100kph depending on whether i am at GVM with a roof load etc. Mine is a 5 speed manual and 31 inch Duratracs. Cheers

I have a 4.6 in my 1988 RRC. Heads have been cleaned up, extractors, 218 @ 50 camshaft, 10:1 compression, manual 5 speed gearbox and standard size tyres.

I have an Impco 425 setup on a 4-barrel intake manifold with closed loop feedback.

Using around 22 l/100km, pretty much the same as the original 3.5 used with the old fuel injection system. It was pre 14CUX.

On a steady HWY cruise i actually did achieve 13l per 100km....so yeah not bad at all.

I run 33 inch MT,s and carry quite a load in MSA slide out boxes in the rear section .....( she,s only a 2 seater now... )
