I finally got me an upgrade, not a huge one, but an upgrade none the less.

Brought home my very first "newish" Land Rover today, a 1995 D1 2.5 TDi 5 speeder, 3 door model.

Needs a few screws tightened here and there, or is that just me still rattling from the old S3?
Can't complain though, a little over 200K on the clock and she only cost me $2000.
Seems to motor along quite nicely, good to actually be able to keep up with traffic flow on the highway at last, it's got real heaters, and sure is a change from rattle and clank in the old girl. Can't for life of me figure out how the Kenwood stereo works, but no big deal, I don't like radios in cars much.

Well, see ya's on the road with the usually Landy wave some time folks.

    Hello all,

I'm a proud owner of a 95 Disco 300tdi. Bought the car over 6 months ago and this forum has been extremely helpful. Thank you all very much for your time and effort on sharing your tips with everybody.
    See you around...

    Hi guys and Gals,
I've been a long time lurker on the forum and you have all been a lot of help.

Bought my 97 Tdi SE new and now has 211,000km's.

Not really had any issues with the exception of a cracked head due to the dodgy temp gauge and my low level sensor not working. Was replaced with a second hand head. She has started using water so in the next few months I'll take the head off and have a look. The SealUp worked for a while and just dropped in some Fiberlock yesterday.
Rust has been eating away in the usual places so I'm in the process of fixing it atm plus a lot of other maintenance so prepare for some questions.

1992 D1 project build - for the extreme

    Hi guys

I recently started 4x4 with some friends and they are hard core( gees arm, coffs, killy loop, whitemans, ctp80, all the watagans really). Mostly cruisers and patrols modified off their heads but I just inherited my dad's 1992 D1 3.5L V8 in ok condition and 253k on the clock stock standard.

I want to build it up to drive the extreme they do as the bug has bitten me hard. Looking into 4inch lift, double lockers, crawler gear, 35's and adjusted diff ratios to suit. We are planning a cape run july 2017 so need to get moving.

Advise, suggestions, ideas all greatfully recieved.

Look forward to the project and having a tough capable truck.

Hope to hear from your experiences

    Mick

You don't need all that for a cape run. Stock standard with a snorkel would be good enough. 1 to 2 Inch lift, lockers and 235/85 muddies with a camel cut will show your mates where they went wrong.
