Hi Guys,
This is my 99 Disco 1 V8.
Fitted 2 inch Oldman springs and dampers all round, Old man steering damper, Heavy duty track rod and drag link, 2 inch White tiger body lift. 33 inch Micky T's on -25mm rims, Flares, Custom exctractors and pipe/muffler, GME UHF.
Planning on rear locker (ordered) with 4.11 pinion and crowns plus cv's from ashcroft.
Enjoy!
Looking good Stumpy, you'll love it with new gearing mine was a pig until I put in the 4.75's and the lockers omg what a difference, only prob I found with the lockers is the mud holes are deeper and harder to winch out of now. Your going to have some fun. How hard was the white tiger body lift to fit?
At the weekend thought id squeeze a bit more out the old girl with some variable valve timing ....
Here's George crossing a flooded causeway on the road into Carnarvon Gorge with the Aussie Swag camper trailer in tow.
G'day Nicho,
Yeah I was suprised by how sluggish the ol girl was. Turning those heavy steel wheels and a reasonably big change in rolling diameter will do that I suppose. Cant wait for the ratio change to arrive.
The White tiger body lift went in with minimal fuss. A bit of mucking around with the very front mounts not lining up with the holes in the chassis. Honestly, just a bit of redrilling and it was all good in no time. The quality of the kit was excellent as were the instructions. I'm quite handy on the tools and it still took every bit of 14 hours. If I were to do it again I would definatley kick off on a Saturday morning and not a Sunday!
Thanks for the comments Nicho, I 'm stoked with how shes coming along. (bog stock 10 months ago!)
See you
Howdy, thought id introduce my pride and moneypit.

deffinately had my list of probs with the disco, timing belt, head, rear main seal, clutch, reco'd injector pump, steering box. but the way I see it these things are all done now ;)
the body to be silver but too much deep water, mud and lantana and the body was worse for wear so I picked this one up from a wreckers for a couple of bucks it was a 2 day job doing the body swap and after transferring everything across its like a new vehicle.

I went through my photos, unfortunately it seems I only have before and after shots, I have done the flares on 3 of my discos and helped with a mates rangie and another disco. the only things I can really recommend is have a couple of days free(sunny weekend) a progressive cut (always cut a little less than you think) and really take your time. they can look great if done properly but not so fantastic when bodged. (my first tdi is a perfect example) ...measure 5 times before doing any cut. also use a small grinder or dremel(if avail) when cutting the guards dont gut right through on first line, run cutting disc along your "line to cut" 2 or 3 times before actually having the disc penetrate through to the other side (I found this helped alot with accuracy!)
I have always wondered why they dont just include a template, for the money we pay for those flares.
hope this helps,
Jarrod.
