Hello all, this is Moriarty, my new (couple of months now) Disco.
Credit to the previous couple of owners, nothing done as a botch or a dodgy, all the mods you'd like to see already sorted.
1998 S model (no airbags or abs)
2.8 TGV engine (big bore 300tdi)
dual batteries
rear ARB airlocker
front winch bar
Warn winch
custom protector side steps
custom rear bar, with quarter chop
UHF
turbo timer
snorkel
rear uni conversion
maxxis bighorn 245/75/R16 on RSA alloys
think 2 inch spring lift
new headlining
so far I've only managed one off road trip and the locker stayed off the whole time, next time I will try harder!
for the future
would like to fabricate my own rock slider side steps and rear bar, new sliders will be longer than the current ones to protect a bit more of the body work, rear bar in case I need to fit a wheel carrier.
thinking about 235/85/R16 muds when the tyres need replacing to match the Defender, always helps to have the same size spares, does anyone have a similar set up with those tyres, would love a pic, this is the daily driver so don't want to atract to much attention from the boys in blue if I can avoid it.
been a long time since any updated shots with how the disco is now,
put flares on,35's, made a custom winch bar, freshened up a few things, made a step in the rear bar to fit a 35 inch spare,

Hey have you had any problems with the modulars and the +8 offset? How are the wheel bearings?
hey, I have -25mm offset(58mm wider than factory +33mm), have had for about 3 years. no probs with wheel bearings.
the -25 modulars were the very first modification to the disco, talk about a can'o'worms. problem with the -25's and 33"x12.5" tyres means that to prevent scrub I had to trim guards, fit flares, 3" spring lift and 2" body lift. everythin appears ok now.
I dont think you will encounter any probs with +8mm (being only 1" wider than factory)
-Jarrod.
This is mine when i 1st got it. A 1997 V8 with gas.
All I've done to it so far is put a standard sized set of Duellers on it. Got a bull bar that i need to get powder coated as its chrome just now and just looks weird on the disco when nothing else is. Having a few problems with it over heating just now so the radiator is off to be re-cored and i have a new viscous fan to fit. Hopefully with the new water pump and thermostat that are on it already this should solve the problem for me.
Once thats solved a 2" lift kit will be getting put straight on it

Time for an update
Here's a pic of the disco from a couple of years back but it is largely unchanged at this point.

The details are -
1994 3.9 v8i manual (dual fuel)
Maxidrive back end
Uni joint drive shaft
2" Dobinsons spring lift
1" Body lift
AMV steering guard
ARB non-winch bar
235/85R16 play tyres
ARB Snorkel
The wish list goes to 2" body lift, 33" tyres and Ashcroft diff centres to correct the gearing. 255/85R16 is the preferred tyre option, I prefer to keep them not too wide.
