Drowned my jeep and snapped con rod, had my insta, clip on, makeshift snorkel on but found a split the full length of the intake pipe after engine died... air filter was still fairly dry (see background in pic), this is what i got to replace it.

Paid $2400, 165'000 k's, one owner, full service history from new, V8i auto.

Have given it a good look over and it's almost immaculate underneath and in engine bay etc, few dried up ends on cruise control hoses (car was garaged for quite a while before i bought it) and some minor rust on bottom of the small top windows at back but apart from that a very clean car.

Runs great although i had an occasional starting problem at first when engine was warm (wait 5 mins and it would fix itself) which i narrowed down to the Reverse/Park/Neutral switch in gearbox, haven't replaced yet but clipped wire back into plastic clip so wire is no longer touching gearbox and it hasn't done it again since.

Yet to take it off road properly, still pretty much stock apart from the roof rack and some spotties.

The 3 days between killing jeep and buying this nearly killed me, nothing to tow the boat to the river and the barra are well and truly on the bite

Plans and how much the bank manager (missus) will allow me to do usually turn out to be two different things.

First will be some MT tires.
Good steel bull bar and suspension to match extra weight.
    Update the old points system.
    Snorkel.
Diff locks, still undecided over TJM/ARB; Hopefully by the time i get them i will have some more details on TJM reliability.
    Winch.
    And some under body protection.
Also some nice neat storage at back for chainsaw and recovery gear etc.

Beyond that it's pretty much just the usual relocating wiring etc... to make it easier to work on in the bush. The stock engine bay is a bit messy by my standards, i like to be able to see and get to the engine without having to pull half of it apart first.

Few questions to sort out but ill save them for another thread...
