I just had 3 belts replaced, timing, A/c and alternator/power steering. Noticed that the A/c belt is a short one in that it does not go around the bottom crankshaft pulley but uses the top pulley. Will that cause any problems.![]()
Only problem I can think of is it will retard the viscous fan somewhat when the A/C clutch is engaged and pumping. It would have the potential for slipping and squeeling. Id take it back and say "You got paid to do a job. Would you mind terribly doing it right."
Or some such

I'd suggest getting the proper length belt -4pk 1320 - the center bearing is something you do not want to ruin by overload. The short belt fix sounds dodgy.
Thanks. I have to return it as while I told the mechanic when I dropped it in what work had to be done, the boss came in at the end so only did what he heard! I wanted a service done as it was due plus the timing beltbut he only did the belt and not the service!
