Windscreen replacement query
Hi Team,
Had a guy come in to replace the front windscreen on my 98 S1 Disco. After he had left I noticed a piece of black high density foam rubber approx 2" thick in the shape of a triangle with a slit along one side which looks like it might slot over a panel, laying on the floor on the passenger side. Does anyone have any ideas as to whether this is a part of the Disco or a part of the installers equipment. I will give the installer a call and ask but as I don't know if it comes from the vehicle I don't want to be told porkies.
I'm not happy with the seal so he will have to come back either way, but I figure as the old saying goes
'forearmed is forewarned'.
Any help would be appreaciated
Regards

Hi!
Don't know about the extra bit, but, I had a new screen fitted in November.
It took the guy 4 goes to get it sealed. Apparently they are a real bugger to seal up (check threads on here)!
If the guy comes back save yourself future hassles and tell him to seal inside and outside with more goop than he has ever used before and you MIGHT get it with one more go.
Good luck.
