I have one of the original compressors and have mine mounted in the same spot. Used for F&R lockers. I have cut up a plastic oil carton and place this over the top to help keep crap off it.Quote:

Actually I'm happy I put it in the engine bay as it recently started spraying oil mist out when I disengaged the locker. ARB put new seals in the locker under warranty and also ran an airline from the exhaust port on the solenoid (on top of the compressor) to inside the chassis rail. At least if it starts leaking again in a couple of years I'll get some bonus rust protection. :angel:
Thanks guys...those are pretty much the answers I was hoping for.
I don't have any box size cavities underneath my Discovery though...and pictures would make explanation easier.
Most of my under side is filled with two more fuel tanks... so I don' expect to find much space underneath the vehicle.
My intention is to install it somewhere under the bonnet and extend the air intake away from heat sources.
I'm taking three days off from work to supervise the lockers instalation.... most mechanics/fitters over this way don't think ahead when locating such a unit.

I put a tee piece in it with a fitting and use it to pump up tyres aswell or you can buy the kit that arb sell for it.
why not put it in the box in the engine bay where the jack lives and relocate the jack to inside under or behind a seat?
