The as was fitted today - and mine has 335,000km - and I fitted new big end bearings two weeks ago as they were down to the copper - so it was not rebuilt although the previous owner did some the work on the head. I'll let you know if there are any engine problems, but that's the first I've heard anyone say about problems

I guess it would make a similar percentage increase to a standard car, but since I don't have a standard car I can't tell for sure.

With the amount of km I drive, it should pay for itself in about 18months (50-70,000km) depending on the price of diesel. Since I decided to spend a fair amount of money on fixing up and modifying the D1 instead of buying a D2, it was all part of the plan.

The sequential system will probably give better results, but is is also around $2,000 more expensive - I'd rather buy a variable vane turbo kit :-)

Wow :eek: Seems like Queensland is the Dearest state for Diesel-Gas , I'm looking at Sequent II later in the year or possibly early next year. :)

I thought I was doing OK reading this stuff until you all started talking about two different types of gas conversion!!!! I don't know which one I was actually referring to - I'll have to check.

The negative schools of thought were 1. about the additional tank not fitting under the car and/or removing the original diesel tank and 2. no real improvement to justify the expense.

Seems it will fit with the right tanks etc but the improvement might relate to which of these two systems they are talking about ie not comparing apples with apples.

the quote (verbal) I got was definitely "high threes" so I presume this is the cheaper/ older version. I'll let you know what I find out. johnd

Definitely can be done I'm running it. The 15 usable litre lpg tank sits amidships on the passenger side.

Goes really wel. Much increased power and great on economy. D1 with 450,000 clicks on it. Had lpg/diesel on it for a couple of years and never missed a beat. Recommended.

Not a lot of negatives as far as I can see. When no lpg it runs as normal on the diesel.

Same here, my 200Tdi has been on gas for 2 years now.
21 Litre sill tank lasts about 400 K's.
Oil seems cleaner between changes and doesn't blacken the fingers as much as before the changover.
On a 10000 K Kimberley trip we only had to run on straight diesel for about 800 Kilometers.
My conversion cost $2700 with 2 Grand back from Mr Costello.
