    From my old 200 Disco owners manual:

    Earlier models --> 81.8 Litres
    Later models --> 90 Litres

    Yep,

    I have a 92 model 81.7 or so. 800k's to a tank, offroad and on beach 700-800.

    I am also very very happy. Glad your enjoying yours too mate. What started as a car for a year or so ........ I will be buried in clutching the steering wheel...!!

    I think they are smoother off road than on...... I know that sounds silly but it is so smooth off road.

    I have 245's on and that made a huge difference in handling, big improvement. Lost a small amount of economy though. I also rebuilt my seat. I will check out Ebay for spares though. I would like a snorkel too.

    All the best

    Diesel/Gas

    Hi All
    I am still getting my 1998 Disco TDI 300 running the way the installer want's it
    The last fill up I had done 674 Kms on 54 Lt of Diesel and 14 Lt of Gas, it was a mix of country and city driving.
    That work's out at 8.01 Lt per 100 kms for Diesel. And 2.08 Lt per 100 for Gas. Before the gas I was get up to 9 Lt per 100 km
    I am getting about 1 to 1.5 kms extra per Lt of Diesel while using about .25 lt of gas. Saving about 1.5 Lt per 100 kms.
    Not much of a saving, the increase in power is in the range of 20 % or more.
    That's the real difference.
    Cheers
    Ian

    The more I read about the tdi's, the more I am beginning to like the them.

    May have to give the old V8 to a new home.

    You guys almost make me cry the way you all love you TDI's.

    The only thing you'll miss is the V8 roar but if it makes you feel any better that isn't really a roar as such it's the sound of your wallet emptying.

    swmbo reckons the diesel sounds like it's purring when running and who am I to argue.

    Regards

    To add my 2c worth.
    I have a '96 TDI. Had it for about 3 months. Done around 20,000kms so far.
    Love it. get about 9-10 litres/100kms. Not the most powerful vehicle I have driven but definately the most comfortable and fun. I'd rather drive this than SWMBO's Commode.

    I love my Disco.
