    About the gate i think they are just going to lock it off and people who want to go down there just ring national parks and they send you a key in the post.
    I think this is so they can control the amount of people down there at one time and there will be a fee involved to, to fund all the work they have done down there
    In my opinion i wish they just left the track alone, i think the reason was when the track was still realy bad a hilux bounced off the edge and national parks had to recover them

    Sounds like what happened over at Riverside when they put the gate in. There you make the payment and pick a key up at a servo in Walca, but just drop the key in a box at the gate as you leave.
