A&B Automatics is listed on the ZF website as an official repairer/agent. I can personally recommend them, although I was able to salvage my auto and not need their services. When mine goes, they'll be the ones who get the job.

I think there is also another place in Thomastown but it's not listed on the ZF site.

Then of course there are hundreds of automatic shops well versed in fixing TH700s with whom you could risk a ZF rebuild.

Whoa how did you know it was me Neil? Psychic!

That was the exact same $$ they quoted me too, makes sense since they're both 97 auto Tdis.

Hope something works out for you.

Manuels (sp) in Thomastown, they are the biggest ZF dealer in Vic, if not Aus. Pretty sure thats all they do!
My mate just did mine, cost me a slab oh and a couple of hundred for a new converter.
If its a 300td1, you'll find that because they have stuff all power, it will be pretty good inside so will only need a new clutch pack, seals, etc....as long as the sprag is ok.
Oh and get the converter redone, mine which was running fine before i pulled it, had a badly burnt out lock up clutch

Hey Vern, did you mod it up while it was out?

You were doing some research into it a while back and I was wandering what you came up with.

I came up with this "i want a normal car, one that handles and doesn't feel like its going to roll" (the missus) so just recoed it with better clutches and a new converter, going to sell it after i do my rangie.
Will investigate the one for the new toy though
