ARB Roof rack on Disco 1

I may have access to a 1250 X 1870 ARB roof rack, which is currently bolted to a 100 series Toyooofa.

Have been into local ARB agent and emailed ARB on their website to see of I can get Land Rover gutter mounts to suit it, before I go and commit my sheckles and buy it!!

Local Dealer said they can only get L/R roof mounts with a new 1/2 length roof rack at $1265.00 plus freight (insert sharp intake of breath sound effect here)

Still waitig for ARB to reply (insert chirping cricket sound effect here)

Anybody mounted a longer (longer than the 1/2 roof type) ARB roof rack to a Disco 1?
Do you have a picture or two?
How did you go about sourcing additional mounting brackets to suit the Disco?

As always any input would be appereciated

    Cheers for now

I can't help you on the availability or price issue, but I just installed a 1/2 length ARB rack on mine and there is about 2-3cm of space above the standard roof rails. A 40cm longer rack won't be a problem with genuine ARB mounts

I think the ARB Disco rack is the widest rack that they make, which is probably why they don't have a wind deflector to suit.
Being wider may make it hard to get gutter mount brackets.

    Thanks Justin

Thats what I thought. I haven't got roof rails to worry about anyway.

It just seems like another retail conspiracy by ARB to get you to buy what they have, rather than what you want.

    Not to be deterred

    Thanks Shaker

The Disco rack is 1250 (really 1270) wide, and is part of the ARB "Deluxe" range, the only differnce between it and the others in the range is the length.

Why they (or their distributors) seem reluctant to provide a price on just the L/R suitable mounting brackets is still a mystery

Still waiting on a response from the ARB website

    Cheers

I'm not sure where you are located but maybe you could give their Kilsyth head office a call?

When I was pricing ARB Racks I was told that there is no wind deflector available because they are wider than their. other racks

Looks very much like an ARB Rack (or a very good copy) to me - very strong but also very heavy.
