    D1 300tdi Fuel Filler Hose

    Noticed on the weekend that the hose between the fuel filler neck and the tank is cracked near the clamps.
    Not leaking as yet but I'd like to replace it.

    Just been quoted $68 from local dealer for genuine part, but it looks pretty much like a straight piece of hose to me.
    Is there something special about it, or can I just use a piece of fuel grade hose of the correct diameter?

    My Disco has the same issue with the fuel filler hose. Is this a common thing for older Disco's or for diesel ones in particular? Watching for any responses as well.

    I threw the calipers on it this morning before I left home and it measured at about 54mm - outside diam of filler neck where it connects to hose.

    Did a quick run around the shops like Enzed and truck parts places during lunch today, but nothing in that size.

    Finally found some at local rubber place "Total Rubber". Got 0.5m for $30.
    The sales guy said it was an odd size, and he was surprised they even had any on the shelf.
    Hopefully it fits OK. Will post back how it goes.

    Check that it is fuel grade hose.

    Thanks Erich. Yes - definitely fuel grade. The manufacturers label on the piece it was cut from said "54mm Fuel Applications"
