4.6 Disco doing its thing !

    G'day all,
Managed to get the Disco out for a play on Sunday on the powerline track !
Have got a couple of pic's !!, ts the first time I have taken her out since the conversion without any problems ! (got my cooling issue sorted out with some EA falcon Thermo fan kit !)
She went up everything I pointed it at with ease

    G'Day mate,
I think you can have good wheel travel with your D2 !, and i'm really keen on air suspension, I was going to take my suspension off and convert it to full air !!.... I believe I can get a better height and wheel travel than current system, I brought and designed all the bits, but I have now changed my plans and started fitting the Air suspension on a diesel D1 that i'm setting up for touring !

As far as the gear I have and where I got it,I specialize in setting up suspensions at OL Midland, so feel free to call in and have a yarn about my favorite subject !! I have tough dog springs and shocks with a Scorpion EVO kit with dislocation cones !
The wheel travel it has is OK, but i will be able to achieve allot more than that with a better bush kit and redesigning shock extended and compressed lengths !
That track can be a bit tough on a standard vehicle, I had with me a fairly standard 2" lifted Patrol and a 5" lifted geared up Patrol (with no lockers) come with me on Sunday, they did cover some quite tough parts of the track but both opted out of a couple of the harder bits that I idled over without so much as a bump on the under body ! You would be quite suprised at what you standard D2 will do !............... invest in a rear locker and it will blow your mind ! I guess the only other thing that makes a real difference with my truck now is the sill rock sliders and custom back sliders, those rocks can really beat up your standard sill, diff, pannels I just used the trial system, took it out and if it got broken, snapped or bent I re-designed it !!

Cheers and hope to catch up soon !
    Jeremy

G'day mate, as far as width goes easily get 37's on ! I want to sell my creepy crawlers and get some 37" comp trepadors which will clear ok if I lift the front a bit more ! but I want to re-design that anyway !, So if anyone is interested I have set of rock crawler rims, bead locks and 35/12.5-15 Creepy crawlers in good nic for sale !!

be award that you do need to re-gear your diff with 4.11 CW&P sets to get the gearing right !

By the way those flares cop a real hiding without breakage ! my drivers back rear seems to always come into contact with deep ruts !

    Cheers

Thanks Jezz , I had aschroft 4.11 CW&P put on my disco while ago , just for sole purpose of going to bigger tyres , I suspect 2" Body lift is still in order , re: your Creepy Crawler we must talk
