I fitted 235/85/16s under a 2" lift with a tiny nip at the guards (standard off-set disco rims)
They measure 31.72"s and are 9.25" wide.
P.s the ones i fitted were very well worn, so you might need a bit bigger guard trim.
TIM.
Hmmm interesting tyre size
Hi dullbird
I had the fedrals on my last car A 80 series cruiser. The where awsome off road, cant fault them. On wet rock they gripped as well as any all terrian I have had, in the sloppy mud & loose dirt, they just keep biting. they seem like a soft compound but after more than 20'000klms found very little wear. on the bitumen they handle well. less wheel spin in the wet than I used to get from my old cooper St tyres. A little road noise, but not bad considering the agressive tread. I paid $220 fitted for 285 75 R16 tyres. pretty good for 8 ply tyres I think. only one fault hard to balance on alloy rims
235 85 16 fit ok on a Rangie with 40 mm lift so they sould fit on the Disco as well.
They are just a tad bigger than the standard tyres that come with the Defe.
My tyres are Maxxis and are very good.
defenders come with 235/85's standard
I just bought Continental CrossContact AT's. Very quiet on road, but as they aren't LT rated, I do find them a bit mushy compared to the BFG AT's I had before and steering performance is not nearly as good, but they are far better on sand than BFG's after some beach runs I did recently.
However, if you are in the market for muddies, have a look at the Kumho KL71's. Link is HERE and a landie one HERE
These have been getting good reviews of late and I almost went "down the track" if you pardon the pun!!
Cheers
Andrew.
