So really is there any need for spending extra money when you don't need to? I don't see why, to me its like buying big name brands over home brands in the super market, hardly any difference, people just like to "think" that its better, when its not, they are just wasting their money. same with alot of other things you buy.
Couldn't agree more, my $20 pads work fine, don't squeal and are dirt cheap.

I put mine in 25,000k's ago and there's plenty of meat left on them and no squeal. I do a lot of freeway driving though. Based on my last Disco which I had for 10+ years I reckon I replace them around every 3 years. For a D1 why on earth would you spend more than you have too. To keep it on the road I just use ebay. I replaced the clutch slave cylinder with a new on for $30, seat belt that wouldn't retract for $25 etc.

Each to their own. I spent $500 getting the front seats reupholstered.

Very funny, not remotely worried about the brakes failing, pads are fine.

I log into ebay.co.uk and do a search for Land Rover and whatever bit I want then look for a supplier who has been around for several years with a good feedback response, minimum 99% good works for me.

Also if you fire off a query ie how much for postage you want a good response. Max 24 hours depends on time there when you log the request.

After that buy on decent price. I definitely don't just buy on cheapest price but I find there is so much choice it's easy to get a good deal. My $19 brake pads came from an Aussie supplier.

    Good luck

    Martin
