Thread: tacho wiper problems

hi everyone can anyone tell me what to look for as my tacho on my tdi 300 has started to go up and down the scale without the engine increasing speed the above also happens even when it is idling i recently changed the head gasket and have washed the motor down to get rid of oil over everything also the rear wiper has only been coming on sometimes after a period of time after the button is pushed any help with these matters would be appreciated

As noted, check the connection at the alternator. Sometimes squeezing the crimp connector a bit tighter will fix it, other times connector replacement is required.
