    Brake pads for a D1

    Hello

I had a quick search through but can only really find stuff for the D2...I don't know whether its relevant or not as I don't know whether they use/prefer the same

I want to change my brake pads but I don't really know of what good brands are out there?

I have Lockheed on the front and Bendix on the back...did have Lockheed on the back also but they squealed like a bitch so I changed them.

So bendix is the only ones I really know are there others that are seen to be good quality pads and any idea what sort of proces they are?

    Thanks

    Lou

I usually just use whatever 4WD's or LRA sell as i have found some other brands are way too hard, i havent had to replace the front pads in my disco in 3 years but have gone thru a set of rears so the fronts will go for softer ones shortly.

Hi Lou, Ive not long put a full set of EBC 6000 series greenstuff pads in my soft dash classic for about $340. They took a fair bit of bedding in and can need a bit off heat in them to get them to bite but they are very good. pedal feel and stopping power are streets ahead of the pads that came out. Havnt towed with them yet but i reckon they will be unreal on long down hill parts. The thing i like about them around town is when you are just about to come to a stop you have to lift a bit as they really bite instead of pressing harder with the old pads. Gives you a fair bit of confidance. Brake dust and disc wear is up a bit but thats to be expected.

    hope this helps

If you call brittish offroad you can pick up a set of bendix im pretty sure is the brand for $88 for a full set. I run them on mine and they are good pads, alot cheaper than most but they pull you up fine, and i do alot of decent stuff and non concentrating onroad resulting in late braking haha.
