No i dont have springs compressors. but jazzaD1 said that the springs would basically faLL out them selfs once you lifted the body. My springs are pretty shot as is and all four where saggin something shockin but i'll check it out tommorrow when i get to them.

Your correct on the "lift part verses brake lines" .... Available off the shelf from RoverCraft or TRS ... or your favourite 4x4 L/R shop



But ... when just generally changing / swapping coils ...

just the fact that you are trying to widen the gap to remove them ... makes the lines stretch to their limits ... Hence ...just keep an eye on it ... Especially the "flex brake line" going from the Diff to the body at the rear ... I usually release / undo the metal bracket on the diff to allow a bit more stretch in the brake line ...

that the way ive done it as well but when you get the diff to drop down you will be stopped by the sway bar and you will have to drop it to let the spring drop out as such trust me

I changed my rear coils by putting my long shocks on then flexing on the bank so my springs would pop out by about 6"s then bolt the new ones in:D
Had to do the front the normal way though:(

The rears will almost fall out once you have undo the lower shock mounts, front you will need to lever the diff/ control arm down and may even require a BFH to persude them in.

sorry chaps not going to be done today, all i have is a bottle jack cause my other one **** itself and plus its raining and i got no shelter cause i live in a cheap ass unit. :(:( Dont know when it will be in have to wait till my wife has a day off, in the next 2 weeks.

Well the lift is finaly completed last night. Steve G came down all the way from Geelong to Give me a chop out with putting the shocks and springs in. The bottle jack i had could not lift the car high enough so Steve came down with oscar, tools in hand, jacks and blocks of wood and steel as far as the eye could see. BIG THANKS goes to steve g for the helping hand and teaching me some new things on the way. GREAT BLOKE!!!!!!

i have a d1 with a 2" old man emu lift kit, today i noticed the res took one inch of fluid in a week!!! the driver front flex line had streched and tore inside, when you pump she drips:eek: i will be calling rover craft on one phone and trs on the other ! thanks for the tip!
