Fixed? Hope all's well. I got away with a piece of the windscreen washer tube off the bonnet squirters. Bit of a squeeze, but out of trouble.

anyone got a pic of this hose? (too lazy to go look at the moment, it's cold and rainy )

Is this a common failure and something all 300TDi owners should look at replacing?

Can only imagine the grief a sieve-like fuel line would cause in the middle of the bush

One of mine popped off once when I was working around the engine but it just slipped back on so its obviously not under much pressure. Just looks like a pretty standard hose. Never happened again.

Thanks to everyone for there advice, and yes it is all sorted now. I managed to buy a lenth of 1/8 fuel hose after some difficulty, had to go to Repco at Hornsby as Autobarn and Auto 1 at chatswood are no longer were they advertise.

Cost was $11 for a metre, the piece they gave me was almost 2 metres long. And it only took 30 sec to replace, will be changing the other fuel lines tomorrow.

DiscoMick if you can slide your hose on and off I would be replacing them, as my new hose is a tight fit. Also if the hose is a bit tatty around the edges change them as that is an indicator that they are sterting to perish.

no I know what mick means you give it a wiggle to get on but its not hard to get on so I agree the pressure on it can not be that high....

That was five years ago and no problems since. I basically knocked it off by accident. Twisted it back on and all has been well ever since.
