    Dash Display/Cluster

    Gday,

It seems the odometer on my instrument cluster in my Discovery 1 300TDi has stopped working and I am thinking about replacing it.
Firstly, I was just wondering if a later model cluster fits in, say from a Discovery 2, without major modification and with the same gauges, etc?
Secondly, where can I find one?

    Regards

Are You sure it has stopped working because it is out of order?
Did You check the transducer connector (hidden between transfer gearbox and hand brake drum)?

    Regards

    Hi mate,
I have had a similar problem once, the odometer didn't work, Obviously it was something out of alignment or similar inside but afer a hefty wiggle with the reset pin and some slabs on the binnacle it went back to work again. This was several years ago, no troubles since.
I am not sure about the newer model's instruments, should surprise me if they were a straight fit.
    Cheers
    Johannes

Without really knowing how the things work, I would assume that if the odometer stopped working but the speedo still works that the problem would be internal to the odometer/speedo unit.

My trip meter doesn't work on my V8 Disco1. I used to be able to wiggle the reset stick and it would start ticking over but even that doesn't do it now. My odometer works though.

I pulled the speedo out once thinking it would be a gear soinning on a shaft or something out of alignment but it looked all to hard so put it back in as it was.
