My 1996 TDI recently weighed in at 2050kg. Had full tank of fuel, rear drawer system, Driver, Passenger, 5yo in back seat. Don't have bullbar or any other accessories.

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
Hmmm...
If you need to upgrade your GVM to go touring, you're carrying too much!!!

Hi Guys,
Just be careful when comparing weights against each other against different weigh bridges. The same as you would compare dyno readings (on this day in these conditions in this particular locale on this dyno this car made XXX killerwasps).
Depending on application, design, range, temp, humidity, calibration.......I would hazard that results could vary significantly day to day across this great brown land of ours.
A coulpa hundred kilos here or there could equal an error margin of < +-1% on a weigh bridge designed to weigh semi trailers.
If you have 2 in your area, and are worried, maybe check them against each other. Might be interesting to see what you get?

In that case... You've got too many mods on your car.
- Loose the winch & front bar.
- Loose the roofrack (you shouldn't be sticking things up there anyway).
- Are you taking passengers? If not, pull the rear seats & carpets out... It'll save you approx 250KG
You have to be VERY strict with yourself about weight.
Shedding the weight will also help make the car more reliable as it won't be constantly stressed...
I know it's a bitter pill to swallow but the GVM is there for a reason!

Hmm, does 250kg that include the weight of passengers?
I've got the rear double seat out of my P38A at the moment to get access to the fuel pump. I'll weigh it tomorrow.
The Kaymar rear bar, if I'd lost that I could save weight! Now, do I really need my roof rack, too? And the long range tank?
Boy, I could lose a lot of weight very quickly.
