Thread: Improve your aircon in your Disco1 V8

I like it, I might have a look to see the quality of mine, I dont remember seeing one.

It looks simple enough I could get the wife to make it.....Now in fact I heard the Kiwis won the rugby, I better hand over a bit of plate and go for a drink with the lads down at my local Aussie Bar.

See what will be left ready when I come back.

I have only just replaced the Condenser in mine. Works much better all round.

On fan speed 3 it still cycles the compressor now.

Alloy condensers don't last forever.

The problem I have with mine which is also a 94V8i change over model is the lack of air flow, or it is fine then feels like it has dropped to slow fan speed?

it seems to be like a flap falls down but from all the documentation that I can find there is nothing that can do that? The trouble is to pull the evap out to see properly looks like the whole dash has to be pulled out and to tell the truth I really couldnt be buggered doing that as it looks like a major job

Question Buzz66, or if some one else may know,
I dont think the compressor cycles (stop/starts with pressure regulation) in my V8 '95. the air con is not super cold, but i thought it might be cold enough.

I havent really used the A/C as we have only owned it since june, and i thought the temp diffrence might be just me as i have only moved over here recently and not had a Aussie summer yet.

Then get it to a A/C mechanic for a service BEFORE the summer rush ...

So the front seal of the compressor doesn't harden or the shaft where the seal sits get rust on it.

Once that happens the refrigerant escapes, so then you will need to get the seal, drier and refrigerant replaced $$$
